Knights 3 - Panthers 1

Game Summary

Knights defeated the defending champs once again with a solid team effort. Special teams played a big part in this game. Knights came out firing and Panthers took 5 penalties early in the game and Knights capitalized only twice on the PP. Kevin Singh and Ryan Bhala getting the goals on the PP. In the second half the ref's decided to even up the calls by starting with the "The Tank" Randhawa calling the Captain on a phantom 4 minute cross checking penalty. Just seconds earlier off the Captains composite graphite sherwood stick ignited a blistering shot from the slot which unfortunately hurt the Panthers goalie who needed a few minutes to recover but somehow continued. A few seconds later Dave Fedorko got called on another penalty and with the Knights down 2 men, Rob took over the game in net and shutdown the Panthers. Teams exchanged goals after the PK with Clayton netting the 3rd goal, Panthers didn't have much left in the tank and Knights finished off the game strong. The Knights rolled the lines very well and kept the game in 6th gear for most of the game. Panthers could not keep up with the Knights on this night.

Knights 3 - DiamondBacks 3

Game Summary

DiamondBacks battling for a playoff position came out strong offensively in this game and scored 2 quick goals on the powerplay. Gur (the tank) Randhawa then took charge of his Knights carrying the ball with determination and drew 2 penalties which allowed the Knights to tie up the game. A wicked one-timer shot from Gary Bal from deep on the left side and one beauty rocket top corner from Ryan Bhala from the deep right side both coming on the powerplay. Midway through 2nd half Diamondbacks took the lead on a defensive mistake which allowed the DBack player to walk in clear and backhand the ball in on Bal Mattu. Clayton Weston then on a similar play deked DBack goalie out of his jockstrap and roofed a backhand top left corner. Knights did not seem to have their legs this game and line changes once again were too long. Superstar backup goalie Bal Mattu as usual was a brick wall good rebound control and snatching up balls around the net to give the Knights a chance to change. Knights could not find the net and went only 2 for 5 on the powerplay. DBacks went 2 of 3 on their PP.

Defensive player of the game - Bal Mattu

NWO 6 - Knights 3

Game Summary

Knights started the game with a 4 minute high sticking penalty but managed to kill the penality and took the lead shortly after that. The NWO responded to tie it up and both teams exchanged goals after that. NWO took the lead by a goal going into the second half with a shot from the slot to the short side on Robbie. Knights came out strong in the second half but couldn't capitalize despite numerous chances and were stifled by the NWO goalie who was outstanding. Gur "The Tank" Randhawa had 3 chances to put his team ahead but could not find the back of the net. Latter part of the second half Knights didn't have the same intensity and hustle as NWO and conceded another 3 goals. Knights did not control the ball as well as NWO did on this night and it cost them the game.

Defensive player of the game - Mandy Parmar
Offensive player of the game - Asif Lalani

Sukh Dosanjh Returns to Knights

Sukh Dosanjh is back in the lineup after a long road to recovery from a hamstring injury. In an interview this past monday night he stated "Hehe I can't wait to get on the floor, what time is the game ? How are the new guys on the team ?". Sukh has been training hard and is expected to be in the best shape of his ball hockey career.

Sukh has also permanently given up the "double big mac with extra sauce" in compliance with his revitalized commitment to the Knights.

Chiefs 6 - Knights 7

Game Summary

Knights came out strong with the forecheck to start the game and outchanced the Chiefs badly. The Chiefs mounted a comeback midway through first half taking a 2 goal lead. Backup goalie Tony Ahluwalia was overwhelmed with the pace of the game and number of shots he faced thus becoming naucious to the point he could not continue. He was replaced early in the 2nd half by superstar goalie Bal Mattu who made his first save with his head. One team-mate heard Mr. Bhala whisper "Jimmy doesn't need a warmup, he's already in the game". Knights made late in the 2nd half comeback captializing on the powerplay with Gary Bal converting on a one timer deep on the left side and newcomer Sukh Dosanjh tieing the game on a beautiful one timer through the goalies 5 hole. Knights then took the lead with less than a minute to go and closed out the game strong.
